Stylists

Coming from a small town of Brenham, Texas, Austin was definitely an eye opening city for me. After 3 years of attempting to figure out what I wanted to “do” in life, I decided to follow my true passion and pursue a career in cosmetology; more specifically, a color specialist.
I graduated from Regency Beauty Institute in September 2011 and since then I have been working as a Salon Coordinator at Salon Intuitions, a salon that is exactly what I had been hoping to be a part of. The clientele are wonderful friendly people and I am lucky to view the salon from a coordinator’s perspective before working and studying my way to become a Color Designer. The amount of talent in each of Salon Intuitions’ stylists is absolutely motivational. From them I see my possible potential and I am super excited!
I began my color education in January 2012 with Erin and soon I will become an Associate, where I will then accept clients on a part time basis. I can’t tell you how fortunate I am to be learning from Erin. She is an amazing educator and her passion shines through to her teaching style. I will never forget the blessings I have been given here and the education I am receiving. Salon Intuitions is such a highly respectable salon that I cannot wait to grow here with these guys and start taking clients of my own, so, please, keep me in mind!

I graduated from Paul Mitchell back home in Reno, NV, where I found my love and passion for styling and cutting hair. I was involved in every extra-curricular activity I could find. I loved everything about the school and there wasn’t a day that went by where I did not yearn to learn more.
After graduating, I moved to Austin to broaden my horizons. I absolutely love this city! Knowing that I made the right move, I thankfully found Salon Intuitions. This salon is the type of family I’ve always wanted to be a part of. The stylists here are awesome at what they do and they reassure me everyday that this is the right career for me.
I started here as a receptionist and, after a few months, started assisting a couple days a week. And now, I am being taking classes from Megan, whom not only is great at what she does, but is also a great instructor. After my apprenticeship ends at the end of this year, I will be on the floor as a Salon Intuitions stylist. It feels like a long way to go, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I started my career as a stylist 5 years ago here in Austin, when I made the move down from northern Indiana. I knew there had to be more out there, especially since I wanted to get involved with such a creative industry. I absolutely love Austin and I’m so glad I made the move!
I began my career at Toni&Guy while still in beauty school. I started as a receptionist and shortly after started my apprenticeship. It was a lot of work to complete, but I am so grateful for the education I received, that I’m unsure where I would be in the hair world without it.
After 4 years at Toni&Guy, I was ready to branch out and learn more! So, when the opportunity to work at Salon Intuitions came my way, I knew it was the place for me.
It is so great to work and grow alongside the people who I started with!

I’d like to start off by expressing my love and adoration for the amazing group of stylists that I work with! They have not only inspired me to begin my own career in this field but shown me new appreciation for it daily.
I have been with Salon Intuitions for a year and a half now and have nearly 4 years of salon management under my belt. I come from a strong foundation of love and devotion and desire to transpose that in my interactions with clients. I’m a born and raised Austinite and will be graduating from cosmetology school early 2012.
My longterm goals are to cut and style hair, work with high fashion/runway shows and eventually become an added stylist to the Salon Intuitions family! As Salon Coordinator Manager, my goal is to ensure your experience with Salon Intuitions is nothing short of the best and I look forward to helping Salon Intuitions continue to rock out all of it’s new endeavors!

I have been styling hair since 2001 here in Austin, TX. I am originally from the great state of Indiana, where I went to a Paul Mitchell Accredited school. When I graduated, I came to Austin to work for Toni & Guy.
I was at Toni & Guy for 8 years and within that time I became an in-salon educator, where I trained the new staff on different styling and cutting techniques. During that time, I helped organize many hair and fashion shows for local charities, attended many classes from TIGI headquarters and then became a Regional Educator in charge of 3 salons and advanced education of all staff.
I moved to Salon Intuitions in September of 2009 to broaden my horizons and continue with my education in the fields of hair dressing and cutting. I don’t specialize in any types of hair, rather I specialize in what best suits my clients. I believe all things are possible, as long as it fits personality, face shape and hair texture. I try to educate the client in working with what they have naturally so that the style is timeless for them.

I have to start by saying that I love the sense of family and trust that we have at Salon Intuitions. We have all worked together for so many years, we have no choice but to be comfortable and respect each other to no end.
I have been in this business for about 8 years. I graduated cosmetology school at 17 in Fort Worth, TX then moved to Austin at 18 years old. My sister lived here and I knew this is where I wanted to start my career. I love this city. I began my future at Toni & Guy, Barton Creek Mall, and worked there for almost 6 years. There, I found my love and passion for cutting hair and teaching others how to cut and style hair.
It was a long road through apprenticeship and training with my coworkers that I have now. Thankfully, I made it through. In my opinion, it is a must for every new stylist to start at a salon that offers advanced training and classes when they are fresh in the industry. I dont know where I would be now without those years of preparation. That being said, I got what I believe is the best education in the beauty industry, and chose to plunge into a local small business with one of my mentors, Hailey. The group of us left about a year and a half ago, which was the best decision I have ever made.
One of my favorite things is to be able to collaborate with the colorist in a three way effort… myself, the colorist, and the client, to really work together on a progressive look that fits our client. To achieve that total look. The reason I got into this trade was to make people look good and feel good about it.
I have had tons of fun participating in photographic contests and hair shows around town with my colleagues. I can’t say that I have a particular cut that I favor over the rest. I want to do everything from conservative business appearances to funky hip new urban styles. Honestly, I have been amazeed that my personality attracts all types of folks. I love listening to my clients, getting to know them and having fun. I look forward to meeting new clients and building the Salon Intuitions empire that we started.

After moving to the US from Vietnam, I have lived here in Austin for most of my life, enjoying the friendly people and beautiful ourdoors our city offers. I have been involved in the cosmetology industry for close to 13 years, 7 of those years as a hair dresser and 4 as a salon manager at Toni & Guy Barton Creek Mall. I am now part of the family of talented friends and professionals here at Salon Intuitions, and loving it!
My style of hair dressing can best be described as a customized hair cut for each client that is easy to dress down for everyday and just as easy to dress up for special days. As it grows out, you’ll find your hair looking better and better. Combine that with our exceptional colorists and you will be turning heads with confidence. Beyond that, I love the relationship built with all of my loyal clients who have supported me through thick and thin, while giving me the chance of supporting them in turn.

Over six years ago I began my career in hairdressing. After majoring in Music History at University of North Texas, I discovered that I wanted much more for my life.I wanted to help people feel good about themselves while still using my creativity. I was always interested in coloring hair, so I began working as a receptionist and later as a Salon Coordinator at a Toni & Guy salon in Dallas. I fell in love with the idea of improving people’s self-image through my daily work and began attending the Guy Academy in Carrollton, TX. I then did my apprenticeship and later managed Toni and Guy at the Dallas Galleria.
After moving to Austin in 2006, I began working at Toni and Guy Lakeline Mall and Barton Creek Mall, where I later became a Technical Educator, getting to share my passion for coloring hair with students. I have been with Salon Intuitions since June of 2008 and I am having fun doing every type of color, be it a subtle highlight, platinum blond, or super edgy and creative. The most important thing to me about doing hair is that each one of my clients leave feeling great about themselves!

I’m a hair color specialist. Worked and trained under TIGI Education for 10 years with additional 4 years of education from other Austin based salons. I love to indulge in the more artistic and progressive side of color. I get my inspiration through the exceptional group of hairstylists and colorists that I work with. I feel there is nothing cooler than rocking out some amazing hair!
